Matt Dollahite

In 1984 Matt pursued a career as a commercial illustrator from the Art Institute in Seattle. He graduated in 1989 in visual communication as a designer / illustrator. The many mediums and techniques learned there gave Matt the gift of expressing his own views and experiences in his work. His desire for the creative environment outside of the commercial illustration and design field grew. In 1998 he moved to the San Juan Islands  with his wife Barbara, opening Gallery San Juan & Framing.
Oil is his medium of choice. The versatility of this medium and painting plein air , has brought Matt's work forward in his search to capture the images and emotions of the San Juan's and the Northwest.

"The magnificence and serenity that surrounds the islands and the Northwest is something I like to convey in my paintings."

You can see more of Matt's work and take a look at his gallery on his website.
